Overview

At Euronovate SA, I discovered the profound importance of engineering robust products that deliver unwavering reliability. As Partner and R&D Director, I was at the helm of developing innovative digital products. This included pioneering an AI-based system for forensic handwriting analysis, a complex technical challenge that pushed the boundaries of digital authentication. I also oversaw product development and market entry in China.

My responsibilities also extended to establishing and scaling the entire manufacturing pipeline in China, managing up to 50 people and setting up three assembly lines in the Chinese factory. I improved the quality and reduced the on-site failure rate of the main product by  by introducing new control processes. This comprehensive effort ultimately contributed significantly to the company’s successful M&A exit with a US company in 2017. I also secured patent registrations for two core products.

ANALYSIS OF CHALLENGES AND LEARNING

The primary challenge was two-fold: advancing the state-of-the-art AI/ML algorithms for forensic handwriting analysis, and managing the operational scale-up of the Joint Venture in China. The factory setup was an invaluable immersion into Chinese manufacturing culture. Successfully merging Swiss standards with local operational realities was a key achievement in cross-cultural management. Ultimately, my experience confirmed that in product development, reliability is the most important feature.
